About Barsana

From here you head towards Barsana dham, a holy place in Brij. Barsana is a town in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. The place is famous as the birthplace of goddess Shri Radha. It has a sacred connection with Lord Krishna as Radha Rani is the main consort of Krishna.

Barsana is the part of pious 84 Kos (approx 252 km) brij Yatra, which is nestled around 50 km away from Mathura.

Radha Rani Temple

Radha Rani temple also known as Ladlee Mahal has history of 5000 years back when Lord Krishna and Radha performed Leela in Barsana. Even today one can feel the charm at Barsana, the true manifestation of love, sacrifice and spirituality. During my journey to this divine place, I felt the sacred aura and the sanctity of this place.

On the way to Radha Rani Temple, there is Gehvar Van, equipped with green trees. This place is believed to be created by Goddess Radha where she played with her friends. This place also holds a significance as Rasleela was done by Lord Krishna and Radha.

Further, moving ahead there is a famous Radha Rani Temple which is situated at a height of 252 m from Barsana village. The temple is a marvelous example of the rich architectural and cultural heritage of India. We ascended the 108 steps and reached Radha Rani Temple to have divine darshan of ladlee ji. We, Brijwasi call our lovely goddess Radha as Ladlee ju.
