Introduction

Generally, a chakra is an energy center in the human body. These are seven in number, each associated with specific physical and emotional aspects of our body.

What are chakras?

Certainly our human body has seven main chakras, responsible for regulating different aspects of physical, emotional and mental health.

Infact, these are energy centers of our body, each one is associated with a specific chakra color, location and function.

Moreover, when they are in balance, they allow the free flow of energy throughout the body. Thus results in a happy and positive aura.

What are seven chakras?

As per yoga, there are seven main chakras in our body. Apparently, there are 136 chakras in our body but we work to balance following chakras to maintain the harmony and balance of energy and proper functioning of different organs of our human body.

Root chakra- Muldhara

Muldhara Chakra is the foundation of human body. It is located at base of the spine of our body. It’s of red colour. And it is responsible for the sense of stability and security. The element of this chakra is the Earth.

Any kind disfunction and disbalance leads to problems related to stomach and digestive systems.

Sacral chakra-Swadisthana

Swadisthana chakra is located below the navel point of our body. Meanwhile it is responsible for sexual energy and creative energy. Water is the element of this chakra. Additionally it also makes a balance of your emotions. To balance it, one need to focus on its colour- orange color. Try to do beej mantra chanting, chakra opening meditation and other yoga poses.

Solar Plexus chakra-Manipura

Solar Plexus Chakra or Manipura is situated in the upper abdomen. Also it is associated with personal power, confidence, willpower and self-esteem. Its colour is yellow. Also fire is the element here.

Apparently it is advised to look at fire, do sound meditation and yoga to unblock the Manipura chakra.

Heart Chakra-Anahata

Heart Chakra or Anahata is located in the center of the chest of a human body. Particularly it represents love, compassion, forgiveness and emotional balance.

The colour of this chakra is green. It is associated with the element air. Infact many Yoga scholars call it a balancing chakra as it is in the middle of body, balancing upper two and bottom two chakras.

However, any disbalanc of energy in this chakra results in heart ailments and other disorders.

Throat Chakra-Vishuddha

Indeed Throat Chakra or Vishuddha is positioned at the throat. Philosophically this chakra is linked to communication, self-expression and truth. The colour is turquoise blue. It has ether or space element.

proper functioning of this chakra will result in a well to do breathing system.

Third Eye Chakra- Ajna

Third Eye Chakra or Ajna is located between the eyebrows. Additionally it is associated with intuition, self realisation, perception and spiritual awareness. Indeed the colour is white and element is the mind or anupada tattva.

Apparently, it is also said that this chakra responds to universe in the most honoured way. It is associated with our intellectual.

Crown Chakra-Sahasrara

Crown Chakra or Sahasrara is located at the top of the head also called crown of the head. Generally it represents spiritual connection, enlightenment and consciousness.The colours associated with it is purple. Additionally, it is associated with Brain.

Moreover, we need to work on balancing of these chakras. Balancing these chakras is believed to contribute to overall well-being and harmony in different aspects of life.

What is Chakra Balancing?

Chakra balancing is the process of restoring harmony and balance to the body’s energy points aka chakras. It involves various techniques that aim to clear blockages or imbalances in the chakras, allowing energy to flow throughout the body properly.

Although balancing one’s chakras has numerous benefits like improved physical health, increased emotional stability and enhanced mental clarity.

Thus, by now we know that if each chakra is balanced and functioning correctly, we can maintain optimal health and well-being.

How to balance your chakras?

There are various methods set to help balance and align the chakras.

Here are some common practices:

  1. Meditation: Meditation has been a great tool to balance the chakras. Apparently focusing on each chakra through meditation can help bring awareness and balance to these energy centers.
  2. Yoga: Subsequently, yoga practices is a most followed tool for valancing chakras. Certainly some yoga poses and sequences are thought to stimulate and balance specific chakras.
  3. Breathing Exercises (Pranayama): Scientifically speaking diaphragm breathing has a great impact on our health. Further, there are some breathing techniques that are used to channelise and balance the chakras. Anulom Vilam, Moolband Kriya, Bhastrika, Bhrahmri are the major Pranayama suggested for cleansing and blaancing the energies.The breathing techniques of Yoga are called Pranayama.
  4. Affirmations: Similarly, positive affirmations targeted at each chakra can influence the associated aspects and promote balance.
  5. Crystals: Modern time has put light on the relevance of crystals and stones to unblock the energy points of human body. However specialists (people with great knowledge on crystals) use crystals or gemstones associated with each chakra to help balance and cleanse the energy.
  6. Aromatherapy: Essential oils and scents can be used to create a supportive atmosphere for chakra balancing. Likewise using essential oils in bathing is recommended to balance the chakra.
  7. Color Therapy: Each chakra is associated with a specific color as mentioned above. Eating the required coloured fruit and vegetable also helps in balancing the chakra. Meanwhile the exposure to or visualization of these colors can be used in different ways like charging water in required colour bottle with sunlight and moonlight.
  8. Sound Healing: Listening to specific sounds or using instruments like singing bowls associated with each chakra is believed to promote balance. Even in Hinduism, kirtan, shankh naad (Sound blown from Conch) satsang and bhajan also helps in creating a perfect realm of sound to balance them.

Ultimately it is essential to practice chakra balancing methods and techniques that are rooted in spiritual and holistic traditions.
